Thursday 10-16 room mate - friend - girlfriend's brother in law - also my new room mate of 2 months, tried to hang himself. I came home from going to get a coffee, noticed his car was not in the driveway. He had taken the week off work due to back pain - revovering from spinal surgery and chronic pain plus depression. I pulled up to my house and thought it would be odd that he went to work so late (noon) and so felt something was wrong, immediately saw his bedroom door open - which is never open - so I shouted through the house for him, then the yard, then went out to the garage with high ceilings, and he was on a high ladder at the top with with a rope noose around his neck, and when I yelled his name he took off the sack on his head and yelled at me that this was something he did - swore at me - I was on the phone with Joyce and told her to call her sister and went in the house. He came in and said he "just didn't want them to take them away" and said nicely to watch his dog - he was going to lay down. I waited for the girls to come home and when they did, Karen found him unconcious, barely breathing, and shook him to wake him from back pain until EMT got there. He spent 72 hours in ____________ and seemed fine but tense. Then next day found out my dad had melanoma, surgery halloween then meantime found he has congestive heart failure.
